STORYTELLING AND THEATRE WORKSHOP
This workshop sees the students explore WORLD STORIES by looking at stories from South America, North America, New Zealand, China, India, West Africa and the Middle East. This is alongside more familiar stories from across Europe. Through these stories we explore CHARACTERS, STORY ARCS, and traditional STAGE CRAFT. This includes looking at PHYSICALITY when performing, VOCAL TECHNIQUE and BREATHING FOR PROJECTION ... and how to CALM DOWN when panicked with stage fright!

The Storytelling Workshop looks to the students for their creativity and ideas. The emphasis is on THEIR improvisation. By using their own experiences and looking at World Stories, we develop language, connection, confidence and spontaneity. This is all in Gigglemug Interactive Theatre's usual fun, high energy, interactive style to help each individual student reach their potential. This focus runs alongside:
Developing confidence with English

Teamwork and teambuilding

Working as an individual

Formal Presenting

Emotional Development Intelligence

Working as an individual as part of a bigger team

By developing confidence with English, the students connect to the materials presented in a spontaneous manner. Many of the techniques used in our workshops are covered under the themes in Citizenship. Groups develop storytelling and drama skills, but also practical English and formal presenting tecniques. At the same time they are sharing thoughts, listening to others, presenting to and giving feedback to the group. These workshops develop focus, connection and expression. They also engender confidence in how to express points of view in a confident and autonomous way... plus some drama to help with this!
