MACBETH

Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays – it is also one of his darkest.  After a chance meeting with three witches on a heath, the question is: will the witches’ prophecy come true? 

 

Will Macbeth become King?

Macbeth is a dark, dramatic tale of murder, horror, betrayal and plotting.  Gigglemug Interactive Theatre looks at the story itself, enacting the play that shows the rise and fall of the eponymous hero, Macbeth.  We do this through exploring:

Finally, we have FUN through drama and theatre.

Alongside this, we discover the witch trials of the 17th Century and the paranoia of a real-life King who escaped a traitorous attack on his life.  We learn that propaganda is nothing new, as we examine the social, historical and political contexts to understand how, why and when Macbeth was created!  Students and audiences leave the space fully understanding the story of one of Shakespeare’s most famous (and best) plays.  However, because of Gigglemug Interactive Theatre they will also fully understand the importance of how and why Macbeth was written in the first place.
